Born in Bucharest, Romania, Ciprian Stanulescu began his ballet training at the age of ten after being accepted into the prestigious State Ballet Academy of Bucharest. His education was shaped by distinguished ballet masters trained at the renowned Vaganova Academy, as well as by teachers from Great Britain and the United States.
Throughout his competitive career, Ciprian received numerous gold and silver medals in classical and contemporary dance at national and international professional competitions, including the prestigious Varna International Ballet Competition in Bulgaria in 1994. In 2020, he became a certified teacher of Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT).
As a professional dancer, Ciprian performed as a soloist with the Romanian Opera in Bucharest and the Serbian Ballet Company in Novi Sad. His repertoire included leading roles in numerous celebrated classical and contemporary ballets. His international performing career took him to more than 25 countries, and he also appeared in national television entertainment programs. During this period, he further expanded his artistic training through studies in jazz dance in Great Britain.
After completing his professional performing career, Ciprian returned to the State Ballet Academy of Bucharest, where he began teaching ballet using the Vaganova method. He subsequently served as Regional Ballet Coordinator for the SABIS educational system in the Middle East, working with young dancers in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. He also taught and developed ballet programs in Italy and Romania before eventually relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia.
Since 2013, Ciprian has been dedicated to training and mentoring aspiring dancers in Vancouver. His students have achieved outstanding results at some of the most respected dance competitions in the world, including the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), the International Ballet Competition (IBC), and numerous other local, national, and international competitions.
Throughout his career, Ciprian has remained committed to developing not only technically accomplished dancers, but also artists with discipline, musicality, confidence, and a deep appreciation for the art of ballet.
